My Mother Lode

Yes, I registered just to make this post. I've been a long time lurker but never really had much to contribute.... until now.

I picked up 2, $500 boxes from my regular bank. I get home and open the first couple of rolls from the corner and nothing. "Here we go again probably another skunk box. Maybe one 40% will be in there somewhere." As I start to peel open the next roll I see white edges. My first thought is these got discolored somehow since there are so many. I check them and low and behold five 40%'s in that roll. Excitedly I open the next roll and over half the roll looks silver! Twelve 40%! I yell for my little 8 year old helper to get in here and help! She's just as excited as I am as we start to peel rolls. Silver everywhere!

The final tally was:

4 90%: '43 worn liberty, 2 franklin, and 1 64

For a total of 463, 40% silver!

There was only a total of 4 skunk rolls in the box and the best roll had 17, 40%, There were several ender rolls, but after checking ebay I thought it was better to just open them! There was also one roll with a 68 on one end and a 69 roll on the other, but I opened that too.

Out of 1000 coins in the box 467, were silver! Needless to say my biggest score ever, tripled my 40% stash!

Incidentally the next box, had only 2 40% but had 10 90%. 4 Liberty, 5 Franklins and 1 '64.

So there ya go, my mother lode!
