Is there any way to find a website of some sort in which you enter a year (i.e., 1998) and then enter in a coin (1958-D Wheat cent), and then obtain a value ($0.02) for that coin in that particular year to help gain an understanding of the value of any coin historically. Any thoughts or does something just like this already exist out there?
There are many " coin tracking " sites out there. Just google it. The problem is , values fluctuate constantly and in the long run, coins are only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it.
Good example 1995 W American Silver Eagle most books and sites had the value of an MS 70 at $15-$18,000. Then all of a sudden someone pays $86,000 for one. Is it an aberration or is that the " new " value ?
With those kind of swings, it is hard to keep an up to date data base. Just look up different online values, check completed auction results and what dealers say and zero in on a value .
