This is a KF1-DDR (Kevin Flynn), FL66-4olr (Frank Leone) In 1996 there were less than 10 of this variety reported in Mint state. I hate the Fact that neither NGC or PCGS will attribute 2 Cents Properly. anyway here is the coin. NGC were 1 point higher than I was expecting.

MS64? It's beautiful no matter what the holder says.

It is difficult to tell from the pics, but it looks mint state. I could give it a MS64 RB. If I could only see if there are more contact marks.

MS-63RB. Sweet-looking coin. I'm envious.

I suspect that you gave this coin a 64 BRN and NGC gave it a 65 BRN
I love the copper coins ,,but somehow have never collected the 2 centers ,,I may have to do something about that !

You are all for the most part being swayed bye the eye appeal. I sent in three rare varieties of which I was concerned that they might body bag this one as I suspect that some one in the past tried to clean it. The other two had original surfaces and I had no worries about them. NGC body bagged the other two for cleaning and graded this one. I can see no evidence of cleaning on the other two and I am very unhappy. I guess I will try ANACS. Anyway NGC gave it a 62BN if you ignore the nice look you will see a fair few contact marks and a fairly major ding in the sheild. Not to mention a couple of scratches to the left of the 2.

Another issue is the dark spot at the left arrowhead. Spots like this on copper coins are usually referred to as carbon spots (although they aren't necessarily caused by carbon!) and they will bring the grade down. I think this relatively large spot is the main reason NGC limited the grade to a 62.

No sign of wear, but the surface is awfully rough for a BU coin. I wouldn't be surprised if someone hadn't tried to mess with it. Anyway, it is a rare addition to your collection and retains some appeal. I wouldn't quarrel with MS-62.
