I received this in a junk silver lot, and I noticed it is a brighter, whiter color than all of my other 90% silver coins. Could this be a proof? Here are pics with a "normal" 90% silver coin to the left of it for comparison. I did the best I could with my amateur camera skills but in real life the difference is more striking.

Doesn't look like it to me. Probably just in better condition than your others.

Can you shave with the reeding?

More than likely not. The rims are usually pretty squared away...but I have been wrong before.
