Guys I don't know what to say, today was an amazing hunt.

I pulled up coin #2 a 1977 Lincoln Memorial cent, some Coca Cola and Pepsi bottle caps and also a bronze cover off a water meter from Buffalo, NY In ALABAMA!!

Pretty cool though!!

In the pics of the water meter, if anyone knows what year it could be from it would be appreciated!!

Best Find: Tie Again!! Penny and Water Meter Lid.
Hunt Time: About Two Hours

Cover Compared To The Penny I Found:

That's MY meter lid! Not really. I live in Texas but found one of those New York "good for one fare" tokens once. Not with the detector, but when I was house-shopping, it was lying in one of the vacant homes I was looking at. Makes you wonder what it's doing this far south of the Mason-Dixon line.

Are you sure? My power went off earlier tonight and I kind of blame you. Actually I went outside while the power was off and hit the front yard to do some MDing. My neighbor's kid asked to try it out in his yard and found a small area with 5 quarters. He offered to give me one but I told him you keep what you catch.

Well the power came back on you I guess it's all good. Looks like that meter cover is at least somewhat old. Makes you wonder how long it sat in the ground before being found.

I found it about four inches down and laying flat so I don't know. I read up that it was made anywhere between 1900-1960 I think. But I found a rifle casing today!

Is there a rifle buried somewhere near that area too, by chance?

I don't know, if there is it'll be awesome. But the markings on it were PMC 7mm Rem Mag, so I think it was probably off a Remington rifle.
