Quote: I just thought it was interesting that there was a huge gap between NGC and EAC standards... That gap is the EAC ... and all the other TGP's But if you feel that strong about the subject, feel free to start a thread and discuss it.

Very nice coin with great eye appeal. Looks to be dug but from a soil that treated the coin nicely. I am at XF details, net VF (based on the blurry pics provided).

Quote: But as soon as I saw this coin today, it really started calling me. Sometimes you gotta answer the phone on the first ring and jump when you mind tells you to wait it out. This time it may cost you not only money from an immediate buy but also the additional time and certification from NGC. Then again, you and the seller will know where it stands as far as authenticity and details when it gets back. It appears to be a really good looking coin, kinda early (1794) for my liking right now but I am kinda taking a shine to it.

These coins are really difficult to find, and I think $1000 would be a nice price to grab it!

GR58 - that's a nice one and so hard to find! I'm also interested in the grading. Here's an example of one graded as EAC25/12.

cipster ... that is a very nice coin you have there. it is nice to see a EAC graded coin.
The coin I post is not mine yet ... still a few things could happen The owner not wanting to sell The coin may grade to a point where I would not want to spend what it is worth.
But there is a good chance. Either way I should be able to get better pictures when it comes back

This coin has been sitting in NGC quality control for two days. I am hoping to hear something soon

GR58: The problem with purchasing this coin is sort of what you mentioned. Coins running into and out of that place so much that the owners may well know coin values. And by them sending out for grading proves that. Whatever it comes back as, I'm sure the price they put on it will show they check many sources for prices and you'll possibly have to pay a lot for that one. Really nice condition for that age. Let us all know what happens.

XF details cleaned.
EAC Sharpness XF-40-45 cleaned with either some crud or corrosion in reverse details. Color may be off, can't trust the images. Net VF-25.

NGC gave the coin a XF40 grade in a problem free holder.
Which priced me out of this coin. I am amazed that the dirt/crud did not get any mention
