I have a Bi-cen drummer quarter that weighs 5.5 is this something to look into?

Probably not. Coin wear or tolerance in weight maybe the cause. If it was missing a clad, that would be important. So image might help to see what you really have.

Silver:5.75

Thanks. It is an under weight quarter, but within tolerance.

Tolerance for the clad is +/- .23 grams so it could weigh as low as 5.44 and still be in tolerance. Tolerance on the 40% silver is .2 grams +/-
