I am a proud papa of a registry set. I was thinking about it and figured what the heck...let's see where I stand and when I first submitted (last year), I was shocked that I was in the top 25.

Now after searching, trading and upgrading, I broke into the top 15 with only 2 coins to go. Tough ones to say the least...the 1971-S DDO Proof Lincoln and the 1990 NO "S" Lincoln proof

I just acquired the 1960 Small Date over Large Date Lincoln Proof and that was a very tough coin...but it felt good to fill the slot. You know that feeling...filling an open and tough slot!

Now, I know all this stuff is about ego's and I will admit it...I have one. 2-Coins-Away...

But it is nice to know that all the searching, trading, selling and upgrading has it rewards. So I will blow my horn for a day or two and then disappear into the world of numismatics again.

Great accomplishment Zak! I too will be joining the Registry game when PCGS can finally add the Silver Commemorative Euros to the registry program. Hope they don't take too much longer as it is really going to be a kick in the old wallet! Hopefully, I will be first and number 1 for a year which would be very rewarding for my efforts. PCGS stated they should be ready for my submissions by the end of the year. We will wait patiently and see!

One of the saddest days of my life was when I accidently switched my 1990 proof set with my brother-in-law in 1990 when returning from the Denver Mint. We both bought the exact same items at the mint and I gave him my bag when we arrived home. Had no idea at the time that 90 No S cent was going to be a huge winner so I didn't start crying for over a year. Made one final attempt last fall to get him to switch the sets back and offered money to boot but he was in the middle of a divorce and his soon to be ex-wife had the set and refused to trade it back. I finally have accepted the fact the coin (set) is gone forever. She may have already sold it by now? That is a major buy and tough to find.
Rest in Peace
