Here is a historically significant ( I think) 1898 Russian Gold 5 Rubles. What grade would you give it?

I'd say AU-53 Obverse given the wear on Mr. Tsar's hair, The Reverse looks good enough to be Unc.

The coin deffinitely has XF+/AUNC detail, but it looks a little wrong to me. It's either because of the picture, or because it was cleaned or something. I don't know, but I'd say this coin is an XF.

I look at the Tsar's beard and hair details and think you guys are being generous on the grade. IMHO.

Just the hair looks worn to me to be AU. I still think the reverse is almost unworn.

Foreign coins are graded differently. They typically don't use the 70 point US version of grading. The grading is a little tougher also. With that said, I would say this is EF.
