The seller has his address as "rare coin".
Better they put "BSville".

Sorry about that - I apologize profusely! - I did not mean to offend you and the intent was not malicious. For what it's worth, I'm (very) new to collecting coins, and was only seeking some third party expert opinions. I was ready to bid on several of your coins, and my intent was to send them to a 3rd party on my own, as you had offered me time to, and once verified I would have posted a positive review. I will delete my postings above.

For what it's worth, cheapcoins13, I have asked the moderater if they would delete my posts where I have reposted your messages. Again, there was no malicious intent - simply posting information I thought others could help me evaluate, or evaluate themselves if they wanted to bid. Good luck with your auctions.

Mark I am fairly certain it is the same coin. It has the exact same mark in the right field. I am curious how the seller determined it was the London mint.
However, it appears you are no longer in the running for the coin. Not to worry there are other coins in the world.

@Markbaer - You did nothing wrong. You shouldn't apologize for anything. I would like to know what this guy thinks a nmumismatic expert is? I am not an expert but I have collected coins for half of my life. For whatever it is worth. This guys response was completely out of line. Why would he fear you posting a conversation about coins and asking an opinion. I would also like to know why he talks like he talking through google translate. These are types of people that are be avoided. No self respecting dealer would care if you discussed the coins or his offerings. It appears clear to me that he was completely trying to take you for a ride. He was fearful of the opinions you might get. That in itself is a red flag. Many of the people that post here also post of FORVM and I wouldnt say one is better than the other, except Forvum is a commerical site and many of the people there are dealers with there own commerical interests and the commerical interests of the store that runs that site. This site is run by and patronized by mostly collectors and some dealers, but the rules for posts with commerical interests or advertisements are quite clear. Once again you did nothing wrong and did not ruin his auctions based on what you posted. He just ruined his own auction, in my eyes.

Thanks guys...it was probably a good thing in the end that I was blocked from bidding since I was unsure. I'm fairly new to ebay, but it's crazy how many bids come in at the very last minute (literally) - one of the coins jumped about $300 I the last minute or two!

I'm completely shocked at his behavior honestly...a red flag imo Take this as a sign that you completely lucked out! If a person was truly confident and honest in his products then he would never care about such an "issue"... Btw, I find it strange that he would sell his coins at almost 1/3 of the prices.. is this normal in ebay? Such deals seems to good to be true to me

An ancient coin of this value level needs an independently verifiable provenance, or at the very least, a provenance that is supported by an independent or mutually agreed highly regarded professional opinion, not exclusively the seller's. Any of the large international auction houses have this level of expertise. In other threads, there has been lots of discussion regarding fake coins and slabs. I would be quite excited by this coin, BUT not the way it is being sold, therefore a downer for me.
