Alright, 1st, the mintage is 2,988 and the coin looks legit to me......unless this coin is fake, than the seller is an idiot.........Am I missing something?

No you're not. It appears to be a problem coin and the price was low but considering everything? It looks like a genuine piece with AU detail and a good deal for the buyer.

Dunno. Nothing alarming about the coin - it has the obverse crack, MM is right - probably unoriginal surfaces so factoring the expected execrable Charlotte strike I agree this one's a nice-strike AU Details example. If it's on the up-and-up it ain't a terrible deal.

Small Dates are only about a third of Heritage's sales of this issue. Should be about double the price of a Large Date, I think.

The coin is authentic, but with obvious cleaning, perhaps even whizzing problems. The price for a problem coin like that is about right for someone looking to acquire the date even at the expense of having issues. Here's a picture of one I owned but recently sold a few months ago for reference:
