1909 S VDB In Poor Condition?

Looks like it was a homeless coin for a time. The color coming back to the tops of the devices tell me it was circulated for a time. I would continue to carry in my pocket to see the color change.

I'm thinking an acetone wash couldn't hurt it. Appears to have been buried at one time.

My coin is in much different condition, unsure what condition exactly..

With it so rough on the surface of the coin, I was thinking it had spent some time outdoors. If so it may never look normal again. At least carrying it will continue to show the light color on the devices (Letters/date/bust) so the darkness would be worn off the tops and it will leave the fields dark looking. Kind of like antiquing. Don't clean it in a cleaning dip. I've done that in the past on a coin that was dark green colored and it removed the green, but most of the surface of the coin as it flaked off. Ruined the coin turning it pink and most of the details were removed as well. At least carrying for a time would remove some of the darkness without ruining the coin.
