Authenticity check? This is a coin I would pass over raw. Only sold for 3k. What do you guys think?

I'm no expert on these but that mint mark looks funky to me along with the denticles near the date. nlp

I don't see any red flags right off the bat except I think NLP is on to something. That mm looks strange.

Edit. Left side rim. Casting seam?

Certainly a fake. I hate it when I see people get snubbed, but a fool and his/her money will soon be separated

Some of the details look a bit weak compared to legit coins and as mentioned above the denticles & rims look a little off. This coin is guilty until proven innocent in my mind.

The mint mark is the biggest red flag to me. I am not convinced that it is genuine.

Fake. I've gotten to where I'm suspicious of all silver coins with that cleaned/but dirty look. The MM was the clincher... rims/denticles look wrong also.

Mintmark placement is wrong compared to all the other examples I have seen. Based on that, the coin is fake in my opinion.

As always, most key date coins on ebay that are not in TPG holders are not in holders for a reason.

The Chinese Communists and Alibaba are going to kill this hobby if ebay does not do something.

Beyond the denticles, face and MM those perfect striations in the reverse fields have an unnatural look to them. Also, isn't there a way to report sellers of fakes to ebay or does ebay even care?

My guess is the Seller got wind of the item possibly being counterfeit and he ended the auction early by selling it to the highest bidder.

As far as ebay is concerned, it's a 100% "Buyer Beware" venue again. The coin review boards are gone, the CSR's don't care and you can hit the "report this item" button all day long and nothing will get done. There may be some contact between people that have some inside access at ebay but for the rest of us peons we are on our own.

Until ebay gets sued for knowingly allowing counterfiet items to be sold it is "business as usual" in eBayland

The only way to truly protect yourself is only buy key date valuable coins from reputable sellers that have extended return periods. Slabbed coins are best. Until you know how to identify fake coins tread very lightly and keep your money safely tucked away.

At aliexpress they're under $5.

I think they could do a convincing jar. They've already got the old bank roll wrappers down pat.
