I just got back (5) PCI slabbed and graded MS64 "TWO-HORNED" Bisons with the variety on the slab.

These errors are much rarer than the other recognized Bison varieties IMO.

I do think this variety will be "collected" now and especially in the future. I do believe this variety will stand the test of time.

I know many of you think die chips are no big deal, but I still stand by that it's the "placement" of the error leading to the great "Eye Appeal"

Chris

ErrorCoins, Glad to hear your herd is back home safely. I was wondering why you picked PCI to do your grading and authenticating? Just curious as there are quite a few services (good services) available so how did you pick PCI? Would PCGS or Anacs have done the same thing for you? Was cost a factor as well?

I really don't understand the value you place on these Buffalo's..? Die cracks in coins seem quite common. I'm not an error collector so I need a little help in this department.

Catman, yes die cracks are very common. This error is a die chip (also very common) formed from a die crack, I think.

I do collect Major errors as well as minor errors like, die polshing, die fill, die cracks, and die chips.

You don't collect errors, that's fine by me...keeps prices down on the errors I buy. As for the "value" I place on the Two-Horned Bison...well I let the market decide that.

I have seen many, many different die cracks and chips in the Bison. This ONE stands out. As far as I can tell, only ONE die cracked and Chipped in this exact postion forming a "TWO-HORNED" Bison.

If this error is SO COMMON...PLease show me all the other examples of 2 horned bisons that look like it is part of the design.......

ONLY ONE DIE cracked and chipped this was.....there aren't many out there and most wont grade very high.

Do a search ..... how common is it.....less common than the speared or detached leg.

Collect what you want, enjoy what you collect, and respect what others collect.

One more thing....some of you think I may be "hyping" this find... maybe I am.

That's not the way I look at it though.

I am PROUD of my find.

I have had fun searching tens of thousands of Bisons.

My daughter has developed an interested in coins.

I'm an artist and I know "eye appeal"

Bottom line: I am Proud of my find and wanted to share

And boy did this little variety upset some people (and some forums), which still blows me away, I truly didn't and don't understand all the wrath that was thrown at my discovery......unbelievable!

Anyway you all have a GREAT DAY!!!!

Rest in Peace

Errorcoins,

I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to offend you by my question. I really don't collect errors but I'm not saying people shouldn't. I was just trying to tell you how little I knew about the subject and that's my reason for asking the question. I try to learn as much as I can from the members of the forum. I will be more careful in the future.

I just saw this post and wanted to say--WAY TO GO...
Now you know that I don't agree with you on these "errors" but I do know how happy I am when I get coins back from a grading Co. and know you feel the same way.

Terry...I'm not sure but I have heard PCI will do anything you want them to do as long as they get the $$...so you can name anything and send it to them...I think thats right but may be wrong...

Again...I too know eye appeal but just like hair color and eye color...everyone is different!

Catman, I would say you do collect errors! Well, in friends that is! I am an error, far from perfect, but still, in my humble opinion, a good friend to have as I have tremendous loyalty to my friends and nothing but respect for their worlds they choose to live in! While it would be great to think everything I do is perfect and I am perfect, well, I am not!!! Just another error that you have managed to collect through the years so you are stuck with me but....I am sure I would grade at least MS-65 but like all graders, it would just be a personal opinion? You have a good day my friend and ErrorCoins you can store all those coins in Indiana, ANY TIME for free! Last but not least, what a boring world this would be if we were all exactly alike!
