So I won an auction on another site for a Nero denarius and the seller included 2 other denari with the Nero. I need some help identifying the other 2. First a "salus" Nero Denarius. I believe this one is RIC 67. Now the next one I think is Commodus. Obv: M COMM ANT P FEL AVG BRIT, laureate head right. Rev: PATER SENAT P M TR P XII IMP VIII COS V P P RIC 157? Can anyone correct this? The last one looks familiar to me but I cannot place it. There is some corrosion of the legend and more corrosion on the reverse. Can anyone help with this one? Thanks to all for any help you can provide.

Last one looks like a Marcus Aurelius.
I really like the Nero, by the way.

I would like to see a better view of the bottom edge of the Nero. Looks can be deceiving but something does not look right. I hope I am wrong !

The coin was purchased from FORVM, so I am reasonably certain of its authenticity. However, if there is a potential problem I would want to know about it. Would you like a photo of the bottom edge of the obverse or reverse?

I do not think these photos will be any better, but they are the best I can do with my camera.

Probably simply the light backround reflected off the silver. The illusion of a seam often occurs. I gave up on light backrounds and use black to eliminate any mirages from appearing.
Good enough for me !

Wow, I think you are right. Thanks so much for this. I could not make out enough detail to know if the coin was upside down LOL.

I think that number two is a "fourree" denarius (silver plated)... And ancient forgery...

@ Athalbert Thanks for the comment. I think you are right. If I look carefully at the reverse it looks like some bronze coming through. Is that what you saw or was it something else?
