I assume it is obverse 2. Grade? Value? The red speck on the obverse was on the scanner glass, it is not on the coin.

It is Obverse 2.
There are no 1871H Obverse 1.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

Can't say as to the originality of the surfaces or the value based on those (what I assume to be) scans. The grade is right around VF-20.

Charlton Catalogue shows a Obverse 1&2 for the 1871 H but the Obverse 1 is rare.

Charlton used to list 1872H Obv1 as a real variety, now they say none are known to exist. Seems some Obv2's were misattributed, I'm quite sure it's the same situation with the 1871H, four that I have seen were misattributed, I own one of them.
