I'm trying to see how far I can get with some of the more desirable Washington varieties. I think there is a good chance this is the S over D variety for 1950. What do you think?  |

May be wrong, but the position is slightly off. This one seems a little more to the west as well as the top leans even more towards the west than the bottom.
Also can't see anything under S resembling a D. Only found one OMM example to compare to on varietyplus. Thanks, Doug.

I noticed the positioning was off as well but thought I could make out a corner of a D on the upper NW of S. I looked up what Wexlers had and couldn't find a variety that I thought matched closer than the S/D.

I would say no. You want to see the serif of the D poking out at the NW corner of the S. See a Cherrypicker's Guide if you have one.

I'll go back and check the S/S die markers Wexler has but this is what in my mind was making a D. I could be wrong  |

You don't like my imaginary D? Haha! I just outlined what I thought was a D from the 1st pic I posted. My attempt to sway the vote...as bad as it may be lol!

Ah, that helps. Looks to me like an s/s, although I do see what looks like it could be the vertical line of the back end of a D.

On a RPM, the punching will be raised on the RPM.  The Area in question to me does not look like a OM. |
