Hey everyone,

This $20 bill caught my eye because the eagle was a purple color instead of the regular blue. I asked one of the currency buying experts at another website and he suspected it was washed or chemically treated. I certainly respect his opinion but I was wondering what you all think. Is it an error? If not, how does this chemical toning happen?

It is my opinion that it isn't an error. It likely went through a washing machine cycle and came in contact with laundry soap or some other cleaning product.

Thanks for the response. That makes sense. I guess I will be spending this one eventually.
