Was looking to complete Lincoln Collection with a real No-D Die #2 Found this ebay Listing: As prior Link is not working..... Go to ebay.com Enter item # 141794346321 in ebay search. or try and enter item number if link not working. http://www.ebay.com/itm/141794346321?ru=http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html%3F_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=141794346321&_rdc=1 Have asked the seller a number of questions - Replies it is a certified, solid Die 2, Strong Reverse - Never Cleaned. Appears the L in Liberty too far from rim and TRUST is all wrong. Coin set in holder hides right side of rim. Claim of MS62 Certification is homemade. Second 2 seems less pronounced than first 2. Claim of uncirculated is ridiculous. Does not appear to be a strong reverse strike. TRUST is not distinct, fades out and is wrong for Die 2. Auction price is too low for die #2. Any guesses on a correct die number? Is it something else? Edited by collectorman62

 Personally, I have doubts - "Trust" is not strong, and the the second 2 is not sharper than the first. And of course it's hardly a 62!  Edited by Coinfrog

Thanks John, I was concerned with that. I had never heard of the grading service certifying the coin. So much wrong with the description, I'll pass on it. I was having trouble with the link to the ebay item. Glad you were able to view it. |

The most current Negative rating centsles received is as follows: "coin is a fake it was written on the original coin holder but sold as original."

From the one diagnostic I know that coin is NOT a 1922 Plain Cent/Strong Reverse.
If it's one of the other varieties I don't know.

Amazing, Coin was bid up on ebay & was just sold for $1,075. As it was not a 1922 die #2, strong reverse, hopefully buyer realizes it when received and ships it back. Thanks for all your input. |
