I'll stop in the flea market and see if he is there this weekend and bring my phone along with this thread.

Will report back regardless of outcome.

On a side note, I think it would be hard to collect holed coins. You really can't put out a want list as anyone can hole a coin at any time they wish if the price is right. If this were me, I think I would want to stumble into all of them on my own to reassure myself they weren't holed specially for my money.

Yeah it's a slippery slope. Some are pretty easy to tell. A fresh hole really stands out. Maybe I'll post some pics tomorrow. I should ebay all my extras too.

It's probably only a matter of time till the TPG's get into certifying "original" holes, huh?

Exo I'm curious, do they slab counter stamped coins ? I have a few cs coins but I'm not sure if they're real or made for ebay type stuff.

52Raymo ... Yes, NGC is one way to go for slabbing counterstamps. I have a few from the Ford collection. I do believe that the Brasher Doubloons were slabbed, too!

Forgot to mention ... SEGS does it too. I personally prefer their top-read holders which I find to be more durable and more scratch-resistant.

I did it ! I found you. Took six years but I got the last one needed. I forgot about posting the 1909-S. Got it a few years ago I think.
