Sweetness! Just a few light scratches and a rubbed spot on the obverse, little erosion visible on the reverse. Beautiful toning overall. Despite the marks (which may be photo artefact, I'd go MS63+ [IMHO]

I'm not sure about the color. When I see the pastel colors start to emerge on a coin's surface and overtake the reliefs it always seems to start a debate on AT versus NT. I wonder where and how this coin was stored to create the effect we see.

Wow , real nice Barber dime . the reverse only has one tiny niche on bottom of the I . My only concern; Is that a die break on bottom of reverse or a scratch ? I know the toning seems to be a little exaggerated , But I love it and feel it's natural toning . MS-65

T-BOP, it's a die break, not a scratch. I too was worried until I had it in hand. With regards to the toning, it's a beautiful coin and came from one of the most reputable dealers in the country.

Looks MS-64 but color is a concern to me, just does not look natural. If this is in a PCGS or NGC holder then I would be tempted to buy it.

Almost looks like the PCGS picture....Real nice! MS64 if that's not a scratch that T-BOP pointed out, color scares me, its just a little too cool

I'm on the fence with grade. I have it at MS63 depending on how deep those cheek marks are. If they are light then it may make 64. The color could go either way. Its similar to heat treated AT. If its the real deal then 64 is a no brainer

AU58. I do not think this coin is MS. Looks like die clash obv & rev.

This is one of those coins that is almost impossible to give too much opinion about simply because we are working from two photos.
My first impression is that it's uncirculated. Even looking at the highest points I don't see a bit of rub.
FROM THE PICTURES I do not like that kind of toning. Regardless of who is offering it. From being fooled a few times myself, I can tell you that SPOTCHY toning is about 90% retoned. Maybe higher than 90%.
They might actually exist, but they are rare.
So for this coin I'm afraid I'd have to agree with those who are not in love with the toning.

Contrary to what some others think, I believe that coin has really nice color and eye appeal. Under normal circumstances the number and location of the marks sets the grade at MS-63. Given the color an eye appeal, I could see a TPG calling it MS-64, but I would not agree with that grade.

Agree 64 (apparent scratch in right obverse field). Color worries me as well.

The color worries me, but otherwise it looks like an MS coin
