I am thinning out my boxes of 1960 and 1970 lincoln Cents.
I have only gone through a very small portion of these looking for errors.
Any advice for looking for specific years/errors ?

Run through images on Coppercoins - that will give you the best idea and in a way which will more likely stay in your memory.

Coppercoins shows what varieties to look for. They don't list errors. (Those terms are often miss used) Error and Varieties are different things.
