I have spent a little time and simply out of confusion I am just going to ask anyone else if they have seen this..
This is a 2012 Acadia Maine Quarter that I found while coin roll hunting. As far as I can tell, it is completely uncirculated (not even a fingerprint.) The texture itself is almost like a matte finish. Can anyone identify this variety (if any) or what may have happened? There are some colorized coins like this, but they are actually colored, where this just has gold coloring/finish.

These are known as "enhanced" coins done by companies (not the U.S.mint) and sold to grandparents to give to their grand kids as gifts. To a coin collector they are considered damaged coins. Some look nice some don't. John1
