I decided to buy 2 rolls of Halves today just because work was slow. I sorted through them and no silver or anything special. I get home I open the pouch I put then in start stacking them by date and then count them to get them ready for my dump bank in the morning. And instead of 40 I only have 39. I know I didn't drop or misplace one and I don't see it on my desk is it possible that the roll was just short? Maybe thats a sign for me hehehe

Even when you take them in and the bank runs them through the counter.....THAT'S not always accurate either.....that's why my bank does NOT want customers to bring in "wrapped" rolls.....they want them loose.....they have to "break them open" to count them and make sure it's accurate or that someone hasn't slipped a "spacer slug" in there etc. etc.
But yeah......I've received them short......and brought in amounts that "should" have been one thing and turned out to be another........Why is it though, that IT'S NEVER "MORE" THAN IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE ! Ha Ha LoL

eaglefoot.. what bank is that? All the banks around here will only accept them rolled. If you bring in loose change they give you directions to the supermarket with a coinstar in it - lol.

Most branches of my bank have coin counters that anyone can use. If you are a customer you get the full amount for your deposit (or in cash from the teller). If you don't have an account they deduct about 8% from the total. They will also accept rolled coins for deposit and have never given me any trouble about depositing rolls.

Chill, if your bank doesn't provide the service you expect you might want to shop around. Excellent customer service will be available somewhere else and banks usually are very happy to sign up a new account!

Rolls sometimes are short, but then again I've received half rolls with a couple SBA dollars inserted in place of half dollars, so I guess it all balances out.

Well I didn' get to upset over it. Other than the fact I spent an extra few mins making sure it wasn't on me.I'll go pick up some more today and see what happens.
