A friend sent this pic of what looks to be a 1960 with stuck through or just a damaged coin. Sorry, but they only sent this one pic. Thank you for anything you can tell.

I am not as experienced as some on this site, but I would have to say it is a penny with PMD or, more simply, a deep scratch.

This looks like a Struck Through Grease error. Those devices had a bit of grease in them , that prevented a full strike on the missing digits. But the grease blockage is fairly minor. It is when 90% or more of the devices are blocked, that some collectors are interested in these:
