Hopefully you have followed my advice repeated over and over here and have separate accounts for buying and selling.

bobby & others frequently suggest having 2 different accounts - 1 for buying & 1 for selling.

Well, I finally took the dive just now & tried to setup a 2nd account for buying. I entered my info with a new ID & Password. I got the following error message:

quote:
You're already registered on ebay
How did this happen?

* You may have already registered with ebay a while ago, but forgot about it.
* If you share your email address with someone else, they may have signed up for an ebay account with this address.

Here's how to fix this
You can:

* Try again with a different email address
* Sign in and make changes to your account

I only have (& only want) one email account.

Advice or solutions?

David,

You have a couple of options. One, check to see how many email accounts your current mail server will allow and create a new one for the ebay buyer account. Two, go to Yahoo and set up one of their free accounts to use for this. Good luck.

You must use a different email account. That's how ebay identifies the account.

I use hotmail. If I set up a 2nd email account, is there a way to have that 2nd account forward email to my primary account, so I don't have to open & check both?
Rest in Peace

You could open up one in your wifes'/girl friends' name.
Or whatever.

Don't know with Hotmail.

The name doesn't matter. You can have 100 accounts with your name, it's only the email address that must be unique.

There's nothing "wrong" with having 2 accounts, you can have 50 if you want. Perfectly ebay legal.

Your accounts weren't suspended simply for having 2, there had to be another reason.

Not to hijack this thread, but I have another question about the second account.

I have set up a second account, my new buying account, but is there EASY way to transfer your favorite sellers list from your first account to your new account?

I kept my first account as my selling account as I have a lot of feedback there and some regular customers and would not want to throw things off.
