Seems to me, may be wrong, but I think that is a crude copy of an arabic coin. The year on it is 1223 which roughly corresponds with 1808. The design on the side displayed in the first picture resembles a 1 para coin from Egypt. The other side seems to be a mirror image incused in the coin. Is that correct? If so, I cannot find any match - leading me to believe That this is a copy.

I agree with bigsilver on this one. Maybe someone else who knows more will weigh in, but I'm not aware of uniface coins from this time period in Egypt. @cerick, could you please post a pic of the edge showing an area that loks like a tab (roughly 9 o'clock on the firtst image?

The coin says it was struck in Egypt 1223 AH, I couldn't find the exact same coin but here is a link on ebay to a coin that looks a little like it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Egypt-Billo...AOSw-0xYYygw
