Hi.

I know vertillay nothing about paper notes but recentley was given this bill as change. (The serial number is IE00269678 if you can't view the image):

Series-2006-$5-Ie-Star-Note

From what I've found online it has a pretty low run number (640,000) and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how much it's worth. I know it's not in the best condition because I found it in circulation.

Thanks!

I believe condition holds this note back from any real premium, otherwise the Richmond star for this series is a semi-tough note to find in uncirculated condition. This is the first colorized series for the five dollar denomination.

I have a pair of GEMs but am unable to find the scan.

I agree it has a condition problem. I think I would put it in a book and stack something heavy on top and leave it like that for a long time. Then take a look at it,if it look any better put it in a sleeve and hang on to it. It will never have a high premium, but being it is a star note and a low run gives it some potential.

Found the scan.

This is a sheet replacement star and typically found in pairs only, usually in a pack of non-star notes.

Thanks for the replies!

Just to get an idea how much would it be worth in the condition that it's in? I don't plan on selling it but would just like to know.
