Bronxman95 Valued Member United States 178 Posts	Posted 04/21/2008 12:16 pm Why is the 2001 Proof Set so expensive relative to the other ones? 2000 State Quarters are worth 10 but the 01 proof set is worth more than 50, why is this? Report this Post to the Staff

amac44 Member United States 3242 Posts	Posted 04/21/2008 12:32 pm Mintage and it was late coming out. There 2x more clad proof sets yes in 2001 but the silver proof set look at the mintage of them. Maybe a lot of coins have been deemed "damaged" from making specialty sets (plating/colouring/altering)?
