2007 John Adams Dollar Error? - Coin Community Forum

Boatlife Valued Member United States 84 Posts	Posted 02/26/2018 6:31 pm I have this 2007 one dollar coin and not sure about exactly what it is, looks like an error though because where the mark is is still shiny like it happened before the plating was put on, any help on this would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance ... Crazyb0 Rest in Peace 10197 Posts	Posted 02/27/2018 8:44 pm Boatlife, the blank is what is cut out of a copper plate stock. It is then plated, and run through the upsetting mill that puts a partial rim on it. Plating is done prior to strike on all cored coins whether it be cents, dollars or a silver clad Ike, all pre strike process. Report this Post to the Staff
