I have this 2007 one dollar coin and not sure about exactly what it is, looks like an error though because where the mark is is still shiny like it happened before the plating was put on, any help on this would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance ... Sorry about the pics if they are not gteat
It happened after all that like conder said psd-hard to see in the pics but if it's still shiny in that area it's just coincedence this is definitely PSD
Boatlife, the blank is what is cut out of a copper plate stock. It is then plated, and run through the upsetting mill that puts a partial rim on it. Plating is done prior to strike on all cored coins whether it be cents, dollars or a silver clad Ike, all pre strike process.
