1954-S Jefferson Nickel - Progressive Indirect Design Transfer (Pidt)

dadsoncoinhobby Valued Member United States 237 Posts	Posted 04/30/2018 10:27 am Hi everyone, I found this nickel over the weekend, and did a bit of searching on the site. It appears, according to this post - http://goccf.com/t/287586 that I might have a Progressive Indirect Design Transfer/ghosting error. I feel like it is pretty strong and pronounced at 10 o'clock to the left of the Monticello dome (Jefferson's chin), and from the wording Monticello/Five Cents (sides of Jefferson's head). coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 05/01/2018 2:39 pm But making a new overlay for the year/mint mark showed me something else was at hand. It is not PIDT, it is from plain over polishing and die wear that you see those areas affected. I saw the same thing on the images I down loaded. Your coin was an even later die state, thus the mushy fields and affected areas. Report this Post to the Staff
