If you missed this coin, and still want to get it (people say , it displays very well) without overpaying, there are 2 for private sale : in ON for CAD 850 in BC for CAD 900 for both coins reported mint condition, no errors, package and papers from RCM. Worth to take a look, if you need'em. **NOT me the seller, neither I have any part in the sale. Just to help to you guys.

I would have thought this unit would immediately gain value, but the price and I believe the size of the coin is holding it back, you just never know with the RCM coins lately.

Original price CDN $750. ASW CDN $125. A very large premium of CDN $625 for artwork, packaging, distribution, marketing and RCM profit, that the customer was asked to pay. Artwork value depends on customers' emotions. Packaging, distribution, marketing and RCM profit have zero numismatic value. As with all new Mint product, the new issue price and mintage is set from past marketing research of previous products and by asking themselves: 'What is the maximum price that the market will bear, such that we can still sell all of the issue, and maximize our profits?' If a new issue is interesting, and the mintage is moderate (1,000 pieces), there is a possibility that there may be some price growth in the numismatic aftermarket. As always, price is governed by how much the collector is happy to pay. Current asking price in the aftermarket is now higher than the issue price, probably due to current relatively high collector interest. That often happens immediately after all of the new issue is sold out. As collector interest shifts to other areas, the asking price should drop back again. If some of a new issue remains unsold, the collector almost always looses value on that issue, if they have bought in. This issue will always be valued at some hundreds of dollars, but I feel that they could be bought at around the issue price or less, in a couple of years' time. If the price is significantly less, then I think that may be due to the fact that the original premium asked by the RCM, was too high.

Prices for the Carousel coins has settled down to the $900 to $1000 range, which is still pretty good considering issue price was $750. There seem to be still a lot of interest in the coin, but only at the right price. The ceiling seems to be $1000; anything higher than that won't sell.

They should put the glittery stuff inside the dome so you can shake it and make it "snow". Afterall it is from Canada. Maybe that will be next year's issue.

I like your ideas, guys. Looking on the picture of the Carousel coins, imagined, that RCM actually could do something more attractive in the similar style: To do the miniature of the some landscape, or natural, or architectural on the top of the coin. Let's say "Table Rock" area at Niagara, or Union Station area in Toronto. Under acrylic dome it will be neat.

Not surprising it did not sell, oonsidering there is buyers fee of 15% tacked on to selling price, making it the coin a minimum of $805 at opening price.

Even with the buyer's fee, a selling price of $805 CAD is below what it is currently selling for on ebay. IMO, not receiving even an opening bid is a bit surprising.

Anyone know of a hassle free place I can sell this coin for issue price? Don't want to go through the headache of ebay. Will dealers take this coin for issue price or am I dreaming? lol Id rather a collector have it though.

Dealers won't pay close to issue price for the coin because they have to make a profit. If they bought it for issue price, they would have to sell it for around $1000 just to break even.
You will to have find a collector willing to pay issue price which is pretty hard since the market for coins is soft. You may need to lower the price of it to take a loss to get rid of it.
