I had to peel this one. It's so beat up that it couldn't have hurt. It still needs a soak in acetone but I like it better now. What about you guys?

@willburton, did it feel like when you get a new phone or whatever and peel off the clear plastic screen protector?

You raise an interesting question--which is worth more, a lam with the outermost layer still largely intact or one that has been removed exposing the inner part of the coin. With this specific coin, I kinda like the stripped view as it really shows off the difference in layers.

Thanks Spence. If the coin was in better condition I may have thought twice. It was easy to peel I did it with my fingernails. It does have some nice layers it's hrad to see in the pic but the lower vest is actually a deeper already peeled lam!

The 'after' is definitely better on the eyes IMO.

I would have given it an acetone bath first. Then you cloud have posted "before and after and after"

Food for thought: I have seen lamination on rolled steel running the full 8 feet of a bar. This bad boy could have a brother or two out there.

Wow..quite a peel. I think it's an awesome example after peeling off the layer.

Haha, that's awesome what you did! It looks so much nicer now that you removed the Lamination peel off the coin. I like it better peeled than unpeeled.

Did you cut the bottom of the upper peel with an X-acto knife / whatever or did it really peel that cleanly just using your fingernails..? Thanks..
