More of my 2 FECs: Quote: As for the rocks and other unearthly objects? These are falling as metorites all the time and the tests (which I do believe) clearly show that came from outerspace. So all the rocks and such supposedly coming from the moon, really came from meteors hitting the earth. It is not uncommon for a commet or meteor to hit the moon (have you even seen all the craters on the moon laterly? It's been hit a LOT over the years). Then a small chunck of the moon (moon rocks) came hurtling towards the earth. They have to go somewhere, ya know. I know the above was posted with tongue and cheek, but as a retired scientist (heavy on geology), this explanation doesn't rock (p.i.) very well. Space debris ("meteors") coming through Earth's atmosphere undergo profound chemical changes due to heat from friction and chemical combination with the various components of Earth's atmosphere, even in the interior of a large meteor wherein the heat changes the crystalization of metal within the rock. This cannot happen on the moon. Specimens brought back from the moon are chemically, physically, and metallurgically unique to the moon (and other vacuum atmosphere bodies and very distinctive from the same type rocks which have arrived to Earth through the atmosphere. Now, if someone wants to pick another science field in which "beliefs" are measured against fact, I might suggest evolution...

An alternative explanation to my "meteor moon rock hypothesis" is that ROBOTS (not human beings) loaded up the rocks from the moon directly and brought them back. Robots retrieve rocks all the time, like on Mars. So it is very possible and probable that ROBOTS were behind the lunar landing.
Disclaimer: I suppose I should disclose that I'm taking the opposite side for FUN and do not wish this to deteriorate.

I am expected to believe that a government that allowed Watergate, Iran-Contra, Monica Lewinsky, and the Plame Affair to become exposed before the associated administration left office has managed to keep a fake Lunar landing "under wraps" for almost forty years?

Hey, keeping the truth about the Lunar landing is costing us big bucks. Why do you think your taxes get WORSE each year?

Just for fuel to the fire. I have an original 1969 moon landing edition of the Detroit News. One of the minor stories in the same paper is the Ted Kennedy driving someone off a cliff scandal. Lost in the shadows of the lunar landing. Coincidence?

The Apollo 11 launch was on 16 July and in the news two days before the Chappaquiddick incident on 18 July. So, unless they staged the launch in anticipation of Ted making a huge mistake two days later, then the answer is no!

Robots retrieve rocks all the time, like on Mars. So it is very possible and probable that ROBOTS were behind the lunar landing. AHA! An error in your logic! (1) You admit the US had the technological capability to put at least a robot on the moon. Robots of the era capable of gathering rocks from non-Earth bodies and returning them to Earth were HUGE. Weight is a major consideration when escaping Earth's (and the moon's) gravitational pull. It was simpler and more weight and cost efficient to send a warm-blooded body to the moon (and back again) than to send a huge dumb robot. (2) The technology to remotely operate a human-like robot was not advanced enough to pull this off (think wi-fi technology levels). Evidence of this is the fact that nobody has yet sent such a probe to Mars to return to Earth with geological specimens. And (3), related to #2, if the US could put such a fake over on the world on the moon, why hasn't the US done the same thing with Mars? The technology is now here. The defense rests. The truth is out there. We are not alone.

Apparently I stand alone in my quest to lift the fish scales from everyone's eyes: There was no human landing on the moon. Rebuttal to the rebuttal: Weight- not an issue because the moon is one-sixth the earth's gravity, so robots and the rocks would be light and not have a major impact. Technology not advanced- just an opinion, no facts to support this. By the way, we did retrieve specimens from Mars using robots only. Fake Mars- there is nothing here to really fake, because we haven't yet put a human being on Mars, either. Quote "We are not alone" Reply: so far there is no evidence anywhere in the Universe that we have company. We are alone. We've had a few close calls, like suggested bacteria on the ALH84001 Mars meteroite and channels that look like water channels, suggestive of life. But, we are alone until evidence prooves otherwise. My other point is that I am in the minority and when minority opinions exist that stand contrary to common belief, the majority tries to squash the other opinion for fear of revealing the TRUTH. So no matter what I say, it will be rebutted. Any additional rebuts will only confirm and extend what I am saying... Go back in the thread and see the pictures I posted as evidence that the entire lunar landing was one BIG FARCE!

Just for a giggle I'll throw this out there. It wasn't robots....it wasn't human either........ever hear of AREA 51? Guess who was really going up there. They were used to it. We staged the show down here to make it look like we went, our little green guys made a weekend trip to the moon and brought back the stuff. They did this for us in payment for our help in keeping them "covered up" and allowing them to continue to make their "abductions".....you know it's lonely out in space
