So I'm not a nickel person, but this coin came to me in an error lot due to the small lamination peel. I was looking at that under the scope and saw that it was a neat Spike Head and JC listed it.

But, this is the first listed Jefferson nickel Spike Head Pre-1993! What am I missing here, either no one looks for them and submits them or these are pretty darn rare. I'm guessing there are lots out there just waiting to be found.

Thanks! I'll probably eventually send it off to ANACS as it's a decent grade and has an error plus plate coin status for the label.

Looks like a struck through debris also on the upper left of the obverse?

Hi Coop, not struck through but a small lamination issue. In fact, a small part of the die crack near the rim has been lifted off by the peel.

Does it fall over the edge of the coin?

The lamination goes over the rim but the coin is in a 2x2 now and hard to see the edges. It at least goes all the way to the edge.

On your third image it looks like it peeled, but the under part is still looking flat. That is what made me think it was a struck though debris error.
