Hi all! I got several Liberty nickels back from ANACS about 2 months ago and was extremely dissapointed with not only how long it took, but the grading was way to tough. Two coins that I know were MS came back AU 58. Just to test it I sent them into NGC and I just got the grades online -- MS 62. Just as I have suspected for a while . ANACS is tougher than NGC , at least on Liberty nickels. Any-one else notice this lately? Its almost like ANACS tighted up with the changover and now wants to be know for undergrading like PCGS.
I have noticed for a little while that allot of coins in the "new" anacs slabs are graded tough all around the board in just about every series, but they seem to grade closer to what I would grade the coin at if it were mine where others seem to grade them higher than I think they should. So I can send my coins to ANACS and get the grades I think they were, or I can send to PCGS/NGC and feel like I have hit the jackpot even though the coins are the same no matter what the label says
I got tough grades on my last group of submissions. I'm thinking of crossing some over to NGC on some of them. I like submitting to ANACS first because you will get a grade on problem coins.
