1983-D Lincoln Memorial Cent / LMC Doubled Die Obverse / DDO Or Zinc Deterioration?

NocturnalJay Valued Member United States 58 Posts	Posted 04/16/2019 03:16 am Need opinions. Came across what looks like a inverted 8 behind the date of this 1983-D LMC. The coin weight is 2.5g. I can't tell if this is just zinc deterioration or some kind of misplaced 8. Also, there looks to be some different marks north of the E of WE and west of the L of LIBERTY. I'm leaning toward zinc deterioration due to the slight difference in size of the 8s, but what do you guys think? Thanks for looking. You can see where this happened because of the circle around the split on the right side of the digits. Your coin made it to my Educational files. Report this Post to the Staff
