Hey folks,

Recently picked up this coin on ebay for next to nothing. The photos were terrible and the only reason I purchased it was because I had never seen a Tombac nickel before.

After photographing the coin, it appears that it was off-struck, and has some die cracks on the bottom of the obverse. Would this be an accurate statement?

Either way I think this coin is very cool.

I chased around for years for one of these, in uncirculated.
I eventually found one, paid AU$8 for it.
Completed my type set of Canadian 'nickels' ? with this purchase.

Somewhat of an oddball.

Nice Tombac beavers are indeed difficult to track down.
That, at least, was my experience, anyway.

Die cracks show up often on these. The rims also seem to have problems. Blame all us hoarders for the shortage.
