How Rare Is This Unstamped Toonie? - Coin Community Forum

SouthernCanuck New Member United States 1 Posts	Posted 08/24/2008 3:02 pm Hi all, I have had this unstamped Canadian Toonie for over 12 years now and am wondering the value and rarity of it. I came across the Toonie when I was a grocery store cashier in the mid 1990's in Vancouver, B.C. I think it was my second roll I ever opened when this coin fell out of it so the toonie was brand new. As you can see by the photos, there are nicks and scratches all over it, but this is the exact condition it was in when it came out of the roll. All of the other Toonies in the roll were in PERFECT condition. Back then when the new toonie hype was going on I heard that one other person had found an unstamped toonie in Toronto but other than that, I haven't heard of it. mkb Valued Member United States 324 Posts	Posted 08/25/2008 3:13 pm Your item is fairly rare (with rare being less than 100). As to price, I am not aware of any trades on this item so far. On the low end, it may go for about $20. On the high end, it may go for $200 (or more). Who knows. I guess it depends on finding the right buyer or buyers and getting them to bid on it. When an item has little to no trading history, folks do not know what they should pay for it, and sometimes hold back from buying. Report this Post to the Staff
