1923 Or 1928 Peace?

I bought this peace for 5$ and it's the first I've had. I don't know if the date is 1923 or 1928. The coin is worn, and damaged. What do you think. And I suspect that the 1928 is highly counterfeit due to the close resemblance of the 3. Teach me please!

I don't know. A 1928 is worth a whole lot of money. It is the key date of the series I believe.

Nope, that's a 1923. The '23 can be confused with the '28 because the loops of the 3 are nearly closed. But if you look at a real '28 there's no doubt.

It is a 1923, and yes there are alot of altered 1923s out there made to look like a 1928.
