First one is 1 rixdollar 1821 from Ceylon, weight is 8,74, diameter is 26,8 but coin is not medal alignment but coin alignment. Please tell me is this coin a fake or contemporary fake or real coin? This piece is either an ex-jewelry piece that suffered in its life... or a cast modern numismatic fake. Does look like a mount mark at 12 o'clock above the king... Report this Post to the Staff

It was manufactured in England and the examples that I have seen or owned always matched the English coinage in terms of crisp strike with no field irregularities. This does NOT look like a genuine strike. Perhaps it may have been mounted as jewelry but the level of field damage is atypical for even that use. Perhaps it started as a replica intended for jewelry. It really looks cast to me. Report this Post to the Staff
