Bahamas Franklin Mint Set - Coin Community Forum

trdhrdr007 Pillar of the Community United States 2335 Posts	Posted 12/02/2008 6:03 pm I was at the local antique mall today & saw a Bahamas coin set that was minted by the Franklin Mint. I passed it by without much of a look because it was from the Franklin Mint. I did a little research when I got home & it looks like these sets have some silver in them, but I can't find any info on how much. Can anyone tell me how much actual silver weight is in one of these? Any idea of a market value? I don't have that much interest in the set but hate to think I might have passed up a deal on some bullion. Unfortunately, I don't remember the year or exactly what was in the set, except that there were several large coins included. Report this Post to the Staff

IBGolden Pillar of the Community Canada 598 Posts	Posted 12/02/2008 6:17 pm Without a picture, all I can suggest is a Bahamas coin search on ebay, 'till you see similar. Then the seller may have listed specs, or better yet scanned the COA. I am somewhat familiar with gold coin sets made by the RCM for the Bahamas/Virgin Is/Caymen Is etc., and I realize the Franklin Mint also made gold proof sets for same. There are quite a few, so with silver proofs added in, the numbers mount. The older sets would be sterling, but nowadays read that COA carefully. Report this Post to the Staff
