AU 58. I also agree from an eye appeal look, something just doesn't jive with the finish unless its the picts.

When the two sides don't seem to match in grade the major TPGs go by the obverse. IMO that coin is XF at best.

I'm with Adam on the Uncirculated grade, but how much? MS62 to MS63 for me. There is a void of luster on the obverse but I'll be darned if I can find any wear. Flat/weak strike yes.

I actually agree with PCGS on this one, it is undoubtedly uncirculated the rims, obverse stars, and extreme feather detail on the reverse make that clear. However, this coin is butt ugly. No luster, and an ugly strike. But given the kind of toning (in this case tarnish) this coin picked up, coupled with the crappy strike makes it look circulated at a glance which is why I thought it'd be a fun coin to look at. Also @Westcoin, did you get the PM I sent you? I tried sending you one the other day in response to you saying you sent me one.

That's one of those coins that once you buy it that sick feeling starts growing in your stomach and you just wanna go throw-up.
Better take a long hard look before buying it cause the buyer is gonna be friends with it a long time!
Thanks for posting!

The coin is OK. I'd be happy to own it. The issue here is the poor image which makes it look terrible. Is it a scan ? The coin is obviously MS.

Had a feeling it would go MS. Wouldn't be my 1st..... or 2nd, or 3rd....... choice, but to each their own. Might fit well in someone's " Crusty Originals" album. Thanks for posting a not-so-straight-forward, stir up the pot example.
