Hi All,

Do 1834 halves have reeding along with lettering on the edge? I can't find mention of reeding.. info just says: "Edge: Lettered "FIFTY CENTS OR HALF A DOLLAR""

thanks!

No reeding. That started in 1836. You should just see a smooth surface with the lettering you described.

You can expect to see what looks like reeding on the edge of 1834 Bust Halves. They have vertical design features between the wording - it'll look like this:

|||FIFTY|||CENTS|||OR|||HALF|||A|||DOLLAR|||*

Thank you for your kind words. It looks like the reports of my demise were greatly exaggerated.
