Greetings. I have a 1951p Washington quarter with an interesting clip. The clipped edge is well worn but has faint marks - diagonal and parallel. Any thoughts on whether this marking could have been done at the mint? Thanks and stay well.

to CCF. We will need a full coin photo front and back as well as one of two close ups. John1

Could it have been clipped at the mint? Absolutely. Can we tell without photos? Absolutely not. to the CCF!

This is my first post here and I tried several times to upload the images. There is no popup when I click the little camera icon. Any other way?

@diy, I'm glad to see that you've got the method figured out--thx for sticking with us to get us these pics. The horizontal marks along the clipped edge are concerning to me as potentially being indicative of someone filing this coin to simulate an error, but not sure conclusive. Any chance of you posting either overall pics, or at least showing the region exactly opposite to the clipped area?

I'm not really seeing the Blakesley Effect in the second picture, which is concerning.

That's kinda straight for a clipped coin. Agree that it was man induced...PMD...post minting damage.
