I compared this to 6 other 1970 s cents I have and it is different so I thought it might be a small date. There is a notch in the 7 but it may be wear. The s is different in style than the others were. And last, but not least, the loop on the 9 on this one appears to curve more than the loops on the others. I know this is a long shot, but I didn't want to send it back into circulation without an appraisal from folks who have a lot more experience than I do.

Looks large to me, when the loop in the 9 ends pointing to the middle of the 7, it is a small date, when the loop in the 9 ends pointing to the bottom of the 7 it is a large date, this is just my opinion...also usually the top horizontal bar on the 7 is at the same height as the top of the 9 for it to be a small date, just some PUP'S...

Thanks folks. I knew finding a 1998 Wide AM and a 1970s small date on the same day would defy all of the odds but I didn't want to do something stupid and spend it. I guess I will just keep looking!
