@kanga as Coop said, you mean RPM, not RPD presumably. If you really think this is an RPM, you'd need more evidence than the lack of other flattening, since it's perfectly possible for MD to be localized on the design, especially if the MD results from looseness of the die at a tilt or about a pivot point (think of it as the strike equivalent of the same process that creates a class VIII or Class V respectively doubled die when it occurs in the hubbing).
