It looks like to me that it is not post mint damage, is this some type of fluting?....new pics... couldnt find anything else Bill but here are the pics, hopefuly you can find something.

Let's see the underneath of a few more columns if any others have that "look"....It might be a "wavy steps" type of situation.

Looks like fluting on the right side of the columns near the steps. BJ would be interested in this one.

From what I see from your pics it looks like its working hub doubling (indented lines) Go look on traildies.com and look at listing 1DER-030WS in the bottom pics and see if it looks like that.
