I'll start this topic with this India 2 Rupee banknote which is part of the 1976 - 1988 series. Its obverse side features a language panel with Hindu text, a peacock, an ornate wheel, the lion capital of Ashoka pillar, and the RBI seal with tiger and palm tree. Its obverse features a 1-rupee coin on the upper right depicting a carving of the lion capital of the Ashoka pillar. The back design of the note features a 1-rupee coin on the upper left with flowers and a rupee symbol in the center. The Sagar Samrat oil exploration platform and a language panel are also printed on the reverse of the note. Report this Post to the Staff

The obverse has the image of Mahatma Gandhi on the right side, the Lion Capital of Ashoka pillar on the lower left-hand corner, and the Reserve Bank of India seal on the lower right-hand corner. The reverse depicts a fusion of agriculture and technology: farmer operating a combine (kind of old tech for a combine as it has no cab) on a wheat field, an offshore oil drilling platform, a steel mill, a satellite and a woman using a computer with a CRT monitor. It was issued in 1992 as part of a three-coin set that commemorated the 500th anniversary of the first voyages of Christopher Columbus to the New World; the set also include a copper-nickel clad Half Dollar and a 0.900 fine gold Half Eagle ($5.00). The reverse of the coin features a novel depiction of Columbus' sailing ship in a split rendering with a US Space Shuttle - certainly a bit of high-tech aerospace hardware! 1992 Columbus Quincentennary Silver Dollar Collecting history one coin or medal at a time! Diverdude Valued Member Canada 280 Posts	Posted 06/23/2022 9:07 pm This is very high tech from a country not really associated with the concept but a 1993 Yugoslavian 5,000,000 dinara note honoured the inventor featuring his Tesla coil and a hydro power plant.
