SamCoin Pillar of the Community United States 3237 Posts	Posted 08/22/2022 01:14 am Doesn't appear to be a strike through at all (or even incuse, for that matter). Seems to just be a dark stain on the surface of the coin where the copper has oxidized in response to some environmental damage. It's possible I'm wrong and it's just a case of not a good enough photograph to see that it's incuse, but if so, please post better photographs. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 08/22/2022 11:12 am If it were a struck through error, there would be an incuse mark on the fields of the coin. It could have been something like a thread that was wet and what made it wet, may have stained the coin on that area. Note how it flows between the dates devices? That tells me it was a post strike event. Note the reverse is also showing a large area stain. So the coin was altered post strike. Report this Post to the Staff
